Cadency Support
Cadency shows where your time actually goes on your Mac and iPhone. Set the hours and intentions you want to focus on, and Cadency tracks how the day really goes, nudges you when you drift, and can keep friends in the loop as accountability partners.
Frequently asked questions
How does tracking work?
About once a minute the Mac app checks what you are doing. If you are idle or locked, it records "Away". If the app or site is on your never-capture list, it records only the app name. Otherwise it captures the display with your active window, blurs secrets like card numbers and passwords on your Mac, and sends it to be classified (for example deep work, communication or social). If nothing has changed it skips the check. On iPhone, Cadency uses Apple's Screen Time on the device.
Are my screenshots stored?
No. Screenshots are analyzed in memory and never stored on our server. If a moment is worth remembering, it is saved only on your Mac and deleted after 30 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I stop Cadency from capturing certain apps or sites?
Open Settings → Privacy & nudges → Never capture and add the apps or websites. Password managers, banking apps and private browser windows are excluded by default.
What do my accountability partners see?
Only your name, the activity category, how long you have been on it, and your plan label, for example "on social for 20 min during Work". Never screenshots, window titles or websites. You can change the alert threshold under Settings → Accountability and remove partners from the Friends tab.
Why does it say the AI limit was reached?
Each account has a daily AI budget. When it is used up, Cadency switches to app- and website-based tracking for the rest of the day. You can see today's usage in Settings.
How much does Cadency cost?
New accounts get a 7-day free trial with no payment required. After that, Cadency Pro is $14.99 per month or $119.88 per year, billed through your Apple ID. See the Terms of Use.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Cadency and tap Cancel Subscription. On Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account?
In the Cadency app, open Settings, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account and data, and confirm with Delete everything. This permanently deletes your account and all of its data from our server, plus the moments saved on that device. If you can't access the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.
How do I turn off Apple Health access?
On iPhone, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Privacy → Apps → Cadency, and turn off the categories you don't want to share.
